Please know that we fully understand that not everyone will be ready to return… We understand that some of our folks are at higher risk for COVID-19, and we respect your decision and hope you will care for your health. VURCH will continue, and you are encouraged to worship virtually until you feel safe to come back.
Things are a little different now that we have resumed. We will ask everyone to wear a face covering and to maintain social distancing. We will be limiting the seating areas of the sanctuary in order to help with spacing. We won’t have congregational singing for now, but will have music as we have in our VURCH services since the pandemic started. There will be no printed bulletin and no offering plates will be passed; plates will be positioned at the entrance to the sanctuary for you to place your offering. Our Ritual of Friendship will be different since we won’t be hugging or shaking hands. Elbow bumps, waves, and verbal greetings are encouraged as you come into the building and as you exit. We ask that you enter through the main door to the narthex and exit through the doors to the right. Hand sanitizer, masks, and wipes will be available for your use.
We grieve the loss of so many of our “normal” ways of being together, but we choose first to “Do no harm.” And yet, we will still have Church. The Spirit will still move among us, God will be glorified and the name of Jesus will be lifted each week. So many things have changed, for now, but God’s grace, mercy and love remain constant.
Please take care of yourself and your families. Have a blessed week.
